Website Design in Kenya
Give customers a clear route from their first question to a useful enquiry. We plan business websites around the information people need, the actions they can take and the team that will keep the site current.
Start with the customer’s decision
A website should make it easy to understand what you offer, whether it fits and what happens next. Before choosing a visual treatment, identify the enquiries the site should support and the evidence you can honestly show.
For a service business
Explain scope, show the working process, answer buying questions and make consultation or contact routes easy to find.
For an online shop
Help people understand products, fulfilment and payment conditions. Product data, supported gateway onboarding and store scope need their own readiness checks.
From page map to handover
Illustrative process — agree the actual scope before implementation.
- Agree the briefAudience, primary actions, page list, content ownership and acceptance criteria.
- Shape the contentPut the main answer first. Build useful service detail, original evidence and understandable navigation.
- Design and buildCreate a responsive WordPress presentation using editable blocks and the agreed brand system.
- Review the journeysCheck menus, forms, mobile layouts, keyboard access and the agreed store flows in their actual environment.
- Prepare ownershipConfirm access, agreed training, recurring responsibilities and launch approval.
Choose the scope before the package
| Requirement | What to decide |
|---|---|
| Pages | List the actual pages. A ten-page allowance is not a promise to write every business policy or service article. |
| Content | Supply approved business facts, images and copy inputs. Agree writing, editing and uploading separately where not included. |
| Forms | Define fields, recipients, privacy wording and successful delivery evidence. |
| Blog | A blog structure and a written article library are different deliverables. |
| Store | Count simple products, categories, content pages, supported payment onboarding and shipping zones. |
| Integrations | Name the system, required access, ongoing fees and who owns troubleshooting. |
Make the site maintainable
WordPress blocks let an authorised editor work on headings, text, images and other page elements. The design should make routine updates straightforward while keeping shared navigation, forms and commercial records consistent. Custom integrations still need technical ownership.
- Use descriptive headings and useful link labels rather than relying on visual position.
- Give images a purpose: show a real product, explain a process or support a decision.
- Keep mobile reading widths comfortable and controls usable without a mouse.
- Agree who maintains WordPress, licences, backups, content and contact destinations after handover.
SEO work begins with useful page intent, coherent routes and accurate titles. Crawling, indexing, field performance and rankings depend on the deployed site and external systems; a design package cannot guarantee them.
Prepare a website brief
- Your organisation, audience and priority customer actions.
- A page list and any existing site that needs to be preserved or replaced.
- Brand files and images you own or have permission to use.
- Approved service details, contact information and genuine evidence.
- Any required form, booking, store or third-party connection.
- Budget range, required date and the person who can approve content.
For a redesign, identify valuable URLs, search traffic and current form or payment dependencies before changing the structure. A migration needs an agreed route and redirect plan; it should not be treated as a cosmetic refresh.
Questions before commissioning a website
Are domain, hosting and maintenance included?
Treat these as separate costs unless your written quote explicitly includes them. Confirm renewals, licences and who owns each account.
When does the delivery period start?
The package delivery period starts after readiness is confirmed: verified deposit, complete brief and materials, authorised access, agreed scope and written kickoff with available capacity.
Can I update the site myself?
The agreed WordPress content is editable through authorised access. Handover should demonstrate the changes your team expects to make, including any restrictions around shared components.
Will the website rank first on Google?
No ranking position is guaranteed. Content quality, competition, technical access and ongoing work influence discovery after the site is available to search engines.
Build around the enquiries you want.
Share the page list, customer journey and any system the website must connect to. We can then identify the right scope.

Write a website brief that prevents expensive assumptions
A useful website brief defines the customer decision, the required pages and the responsibilities behind delivery. It gives the designer enough clarity to propose a scope without guessing your business.

What content should you prepare before a website project starts?
Prepare approved business information before asking a design to carry it. Clear service scope, accurate contact details and usable images make the page structure easier to build and review.

What to check after a business website becomes crawlable
After a website becomes crawlable, check discovery and indexing with actual evidence. A page being published in WordPress, accessible to a browser and indexed by Google are different states.
